Community Gardens
In addition to the Lowe’s Garden Center, Harold’s Indoor Outdoor Plants, and We Bite Rare & Unusual Plants, St Roch has several community gardens.
A community garden is a piece of land gardened or cultivated by a group of people individually or collectively.
Community gardens not only create green spaces, they also create social spaces for neighbors to meet.

Galvez Garden
2317 N Galvez St, New Orleans, LA 70117
Initiated in aims to fight blight and promote shared community spaces, I Dig It wanted to make a difference in our community on a small scale. 2317 Galvez St. presented the perfect opportunity to educate neighbors on stormwater management and urban gardens, while beautifying the St. Roch community (and I dig it).

St Roch Community Garden
1904 St Roch Ave, New Orleans, LA 70117
Where neighbors become family and soil becomes story.
Our artist-led community garden at 1904 St. Roch Ave isn’t just growing food — we’re growing connection, culture, and community care.
Here, every seedling planted is an act of love.
Every harvest shared is a celebration.
Every neighbor welcomed helps our community grow stronger.
We’re cultivating more than vegetables — we’re nurturing a thriving, interconnected community where creativity and care flourish.
